If you love wild landscapes, mountains and if you like spending a day moving in the nature and breathing fresh cool air, then this hike is for you. 🍀 Discover the beauty of the Carpathians with a nice and international group, guided by a certified mountain guide speaking English. We bring fun and we create wonderful memories for our hikers. ✨
We invite you to a beautiful and medium hike in the mountains close to Brașov. Piatra Craiului also known as the Queen of the Carpathians, has a smaller twin mountain called Piatra Mică. Smaller but nonetheless beautiful and challenging as the main ridge. The views from up there give onto the massifs all around and to mountain villages scattered under our feet. You shouldn’t miss that! So tell your friends (expats or Romanians) and join us! 🏔️
📅 PROGRAMME
📍 Where? Piatra Craiului Mountains (start from Fântâna lui Botorog, close to Zărnești and end in the same point)
📅 When? Saturday July 6th, start hike at 10AM
〽️ The route that we will hike on starts at Fântâna lui Botorog in Prăpastiile Zărnești. We hike through the forest till a big beautiful meadow. We continue the hike to Curmătura Chalet, where we will stop for lunch. They serve good food and cakes with hidden quotes. 😉 From the chalet we continue the hike to a Saddle, from where we see what lies ahead us. After a short and adventurous uphill we reach Piatra Mică Ridge and peak 1816 m. From there, we start going down to the same point we started in the morning.
❗This hike is suitable for active people with mountain experience and good fitness level.
Families with teenagers above 16 years old are welcome.
Elevation +850 m, Distance 15 km round trip, Level: medium❗
The price is 175 lei for a group of minimum 8 people and includes
- guiding services with a certified mountain guide
- private transfer Brașov – Zărnești and return for maximum 8 passengers in our van
- safe organization of the tour
- lots of fun during the day
- photo & video album at the end of the trip
- waterproof hiking boots (no light shoes, nor sneakers please!)
- mountain clothing suitable for the season
- head and neck accessories (scarf, hat, sunglasses, etc.)
- trekking poles (recommended)
- backpack (30 L)
- head torch (with charged batteries), sunscreen, sun glasses
- waterproof and wind-stopper jacket
- water and snacks (we have plenty of water sources on the trail)
Transportation is not included (apart from the first 8 hikers who book seats in our van).
Some of the participants may come by car and you can share the fuel expenses (we will put you in contact with them).
Food is not included, so please bring whatever you like to eat when we take the lunch break with a view, on top of the mountain. There is also the possibility to eat at Curmatura Chalet (soup, second dish, desert).

Limited places to keep a fair guide: customer ratio and to provide as personal and enjoyable an experience as possible for each participant.
