Hello, mountain people
”Hike 4 Expats” in Romania is a regular event, taking place every month. The group is international and hikers from all over the world join us in the wild Carpathians.
If you love mountains and if you like spending a day moving in the nature and breathing fresh cool air, then this hike is for you. Discover the beauty of the Carpathians with a nice and international group, guided by a certified mountain guide speaking English & French. We bring fun and we create wonderful memories for our hikers.
We invite you to a beautiful and easy hike in the mountains, not far from Bucharest nor from Brașov. At the moment, the mountains are all covered with white ‘coats’ and they look spectacular! You shouldn’t miss that! So, tell your friends (expats or Romanians) and join us!

Where?
We change the destination every month, but keep an eye on us to learn where we are hiking next

When?
Usually on Saturday, one-day hike, we invite our community via newsletter and social media, weeks in advance (follow us and make sure your address is in our mailing list)

Route
The route is usually easy-medium level, no technical segments involved, but lots of beautiful views. Sometimes, we have lunch in a mountain chalet, traditional guesthouse or cozy shepherd’s hut where the hosts cook delicious food with local products.

Kids-friendly
Most of the hikes are suitable for active families with children or teenagers (from 7 years old), unless the level is a little harder and we’ll specify that.
The price is 130 lei for a group of minimum 8 people (children pay 90 lei) and includes:
- guiding services with a certified mountain guide & history about the place we visit
- safe organization of the tour
- lots of fun during the day & networking with other expats living in Romania
- photo & video album at the end of the trip
- waterproof hiking boots (no light shoes, nor sneakers please!)
- mountain clothing suitable for the season
- head and neck accessories (scarf, hat, sunglasses, etc.)
- trekking poles
- waterproof gloves (for winter hikes)
- 1-day backpack (30 L)
- head torch (with charged batteries), sunscreen
- waterproof and wind-stopper jacket
- snow gaiters (for winter hikes)
- water, snacks, thermos bottle of hot tea/ coffee
Transportation is not included, but we highly recommend traveling by train, when the infrastructure allows it, in order to avoid huge traffic jams on busy roads. Some of the participants may come by car and you can share the fuel expenses (we will put you in contact with them).
Food is usually not included, unless specified, so please bring whatever you like for snacks on the way and we can make a picnic together.
