If you love wild landscapes, mountains and if you like spending a day moving in the nature and breathing fresh cool air, then this hike is for you. Discover the beauty of the Carpathians with a nice and international group, guided by a certified mountain guide speaking English. We bring fun and we create wonderful memories for our hikers.
We invite you to a beautiful and easy hike in the mountains not far from Bucharest nor from Brașov: Piatra Craiului National Park and the remote villages from the foot of mountain. At the moment, the mountains are still covered with white ‘coats’ and they look spectacular! You shouldn’t miss that!

📅 PROGRAMME
📍 Where? Piatra Craiului National Park (start near Zărnești town, end in Bran)
📅 When? Saturday February 15th
〽️ The route goes firstly through the remote and traditional village of Măgura which is part of the national park of Piatra Craiului. Then we will go up through some pastures and among the haystacks, and finally we will reach a small peak, but the highest point of this hike, at around 1400 m altitude. From here the view is amazing 360 degrees around and we can admire the main ridge of Piatra Craiului and all the picturesque mountain villages that are scattered in the valley. The route is a historical one and your guide will tell you what happened there in WW I. After some photo sessions and fun in the snow, we will continue through a dense forest of centuries-old beech trees where we can find limestone fossils when we are lucky. The final descent takes us to the village of Bran where we can catch a glimpse of the famous Bran Castle, before we finish the hike and organize a short transfer to get the cars back (for drivers).
- waterproof hiking boots (no light shoes, nor sneakers please!)
- mountain clothing suitable for a winter hike
- head and neck accessories (scarf, hat, etc.)
- snow gaiters (if the snow is fresh and deep, we will let you know)
- trekking poles (recommended)
- backpack (30 L)
- sunscreen, sun glasses
- waterproof and wind-stopper jacket
- water, snacks, thermos bottle with hot tea
- warm & waterproof gloves
Transportation is not included, but if you need it, we will find you seats in other participants’ cars and you go car-sharing style.
For people arriving by train to Brasov, we can offer 7 seats in our van for the transfer Brasov – Zarnesti and return.
Food is not included, so please bring whatever you like to eat when we take the lunch break with a view, on top of the mountain.
The tariff is 170 lei/adult for a group of minimum 6 people (children pay 130 lei) and includes
- guiding services with a certified mountain guide
- safe organization of the tour
- lots of fun during the day
- photo & video album at the end of the trip
- transfer Brașov – Zărnești in the morning and return in the afternoon for people who need it
Accommodation is not included, but if you think it’s necessary and to avoid the stress of driving too long on the same day, you can find many options for sleeping in the area, for all budgets and tastes.
