Hike for Expats in Romania
Hello hikers and welcome to the Carpathians!
If you love wild landscapes, mountains and if you like spending a day moving in the nature and breathing fresh cool air, then this hike is for you. Discover the beauty of the Carpathians with a nice and international group, guided by a certified mountain guide speaking English, French and Spanish. We bring fun and we create wonderful memories for our hikers.
We invite you to a very scenic and challenging hike in the mountains not far from Bucharest nor from Brașov: Jepilor Valley or the so-called Jepii Mici in Bucegi Mountains. At the moment, Autumn arrived in the mountains and there is a beautiful natural show with colors everywhere, and the woods look spectacular! You shouldn’t miss that!

📅 PROGRAMME
📍 Where? Bucegi Mountains, start from Bușteni resort, end in the same town (we will send the exact pinpoint after registration)
📅 When? Sunday October 11th
〽️ The route that we will hike on is called Jepii Mici and goes along a beautiful, deep valley, surrounded by big steep walls. This is one of the most famous and spectacular hikes in Bucegi Mountains and in Romania. Bucegi mountains are full of history and legends, your guide will tell you all about it. At the top of the hike we will reach the Caraiman chalet where we can have a warm & delicious lunch. After lunch we will continue our hike on the plateau of Bucegi and the way down goes on a different trail (Jepii Mari), back to the starting point where we finish the loop.
This hike is suitable for active people with mountain experience and good fitness level.- waterproof hiking boots
- mountain clothing suitable for this season and temperatures
- head and neck accessories (scarf, hat, etc.)
- trekking poles (recommended)
- backpack (30 L)
- sunscreen, sun glasses
- waterproof and wind-stopper jacket
- water, food, snacks
- head-torch
- gloves
Transportation is not included, but if you need it, we will find you seats in other participants’ cars and you go car-sharing style.
Also we recommend traveling by train on this busy road in order to avoid the traffic jams (buy tickets for train IR 1725 Bucharest – Bușteni 6.09 AM – 7.50 AM; make sure you buy your ticket days in advance in order to find seats! Do not buy your return ticket yet, there are plenty of trains in the afternoon/ evening, plus we cannot know exactly when we finish the hike).
Some of the participants may come by car and you can share the fuel expenses (we will put you in contact with them).
Food is not included so please bring whatever you like to eat when we take the lunch break with a view, on top of the mountain (sandwiches, bars, nuts, thermos with hot coffee/tea). There is also the option to eat something nice and warm at Caraiman Chalet.
The tariff is 180 lei/person for a group of minimum 6 people and includes
- guiding services with a certified mountain guide
- consultancy before and after the tour
- safe organization of the tour
- lots of fun during the day
- photo & video album at the end of the trip
It does NOT include transfers, lunch or any other expenses and tickets.
